Radio Navigation Systems

Radio Navigation Systems are the basis for landing of the aircraft, regardless of whether are concerned en-route or terminal means. Some of these systems perform both tasks. Terminal Radio Navigation Systems helps the pilot to land the aircraft, while en route Radio Navigation Systems allow the pilot to determine position of the aircraft during the flight. Implemented Radio Navigation Systems in BHANSA are:

• Instrument Landing System-ILS

• VHF Omnidirectional Radio Range VOR

• Non-Directional Beacon- NDB

• Distance Measuring Equipment DME

Radio Navigation Systems are installed at different locations for the purpose of providing en-route air navigation.
