A large number of invited guests visited the premises of the Center, familiarized themselves with the work of BH controllers, make sure how serious and responsible work they are doing every day, and how safely and effectively they are resolving the crowd in the sky over Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the ceremony, the representatives of BHANSA proudly pointed out that with the establishment of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Air Navigation Services Agency (BHANSA) in 2009. Bosnia and Herzegovina made a clear commitment for fully taking over of the control of air traffic in its airspace. After the transition of the entity directorates of civil aviation, Federal Directorate of Civil Aviation and Directorate of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Srpska, on 01. January, 2014. BHANSA took responsibility for the provision of approach and aerodrome air traffic control in controlled zones of international airports of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in Banja Luka, Mostar, Sarajevo and Tuzla with associated services.

November, 2014. with joint efforts of all employees of BHANSA, friends and partners, BHANSA has started to provide air traffic services in the airspace of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the amount of up to 10,000 meters (FL 100 to FL 325) from the Operating Unit of Area Control Center in Sarajevo (ATCU I). That date is inscribed in the history of civil aviation and air traffic control in BiH. The air traffic controller of BHANSA was for the first time sent welcome to air crew in the airspace of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the lower part of the airspace of Bosnia and Herzegovina and by this BHANSA also became the youngest provider of air navigation services in Europe.

On the occasion of the beginning of the Area Control Center - Operating Unit (ATCU II), Banja Luka, Davorin Primorac, Director of BHANSA said: "Until just a few years ago it was impossible to think about the beginning of the provision of air navigation services in a layer of air space over ten thousand meters, and today we are close to this goal. BHANSA has grown into a respectable agency, which was also recognized in the Europe. For a country that recently had almost no capacity nor the power to control air traffic in its airspace, this is a huge success. It may sound pretentious, but I am convinced that BHANSA with its actions, including the event for which we are gathered today, contributes significantly to the fact that BiH becomes part of a united Europe. You have to start somewhere.Whyshouldn'twe start from the sky?!"
