MADRID, March 8. - Bosnia and Herzegovina Air Navigation Services Agency  (BHANSA) won this year's award of the European Commission for SEAFRA (South-East Axis Free Route Airspace), project which was realized together with partner agencies from Croatia and Serbia.

The prestigious award - Single European Sky was awarded to the Director of BHANSA, Davorin Primorac at World Congress of provider of air traffic services, which is held in Madrid.

The awarded project refers to the free planning and implementation of flight of passenger aircrafts, regardless of the division of airspace between these countries or limits of their responsibilities, per southeast axis above 10,000 meters.

"I am glad that the European Commission has recognized the importance of this regional concept, which significantly improves the safety of air traffic, but also the efficiency in the provision of air traffic services," said Mr. Primorac.

EUROCONTROL has started a coordinated development and implementation of Free Route Airspace nine years ago, working closely with the civilian and military experts in the design of airspace, European states, air navigation service providers, airspace users, organizations for flight planning and other relevant international bodies. BHANSA has actively involved in these activities and the obtained award is a confirmation of quality and serious work.

The meeting in Madrid ends today, by signing a Memorandum of Cooperation for the new joint Southeast European Cooperative Initiative (SECSI).
