A meeting, organized by Bosnia and Herzegovina Air Navigation Services Agency (BHANSA), was held in Mostar. The meeting was attended by representatives of entity geodetic administrations, Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH, the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH, and representatives of hosts.
The topic of the meeting was the possibility of using data within LIDAR project of surveying the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is financed by the European Union within the framework of IPA II-2019 and the project became effective in July 2023 and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2024.
The enormous importance of using this data for the entire civil aviation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was highlighted. The representatives of BHANSA emphasized their special interest in view of the obligation to make data on terrain and obstacles available to air traffic users, where the European Commission within the framework of the initiative "Single European Sky" adopted a package of regulatory legal frameworks that define concrete steps, measures and deadlines for achieving these goals.
In the discussion, the desire to find opportunities was emphasized, all in accordance with the Law on the Procedure for Concluding and Executing International Agreements and in accordance with the project task itself, the availability and exemption from payment of fees for the use of this data to all institutions that need this data.
