Implementation of the meteorological system in BHANSA

As part of the improvement of meteorological services, BHANSA is implementing a new meteorological system that includes the modernization of existing capacities. The project includes the introduction of a system for the work of MWO and JPAKL forecasters, as well as automatic meteorological stations (AWOS) which have been successfully installed at LQSA, LQBK, LQTZ i LQMO aerodromes.

The new system enables efficient collection, processing and distribution of meteorological data, which directly contributes to a significant improvement in the quality and accuracy of forecasts. Automatic meteorological stations are intended for automatic collection and processing of meteorological data, and enable the display of data at all operational locations that use this information.

The training of aviation technical and meteorological personnel and air traffic controllers was held at the manufacturer - MicroStep in Bratislava, laying the foundations for further development of expertise and ensuring competence in working with new technologies, which is essential for optimal use of the system and directly contributes to aviation safety.

During their stay with the manufacturer, representatives of BHANSA visited Meteorological Technology World Expo in Vienna, where the exhibition space was filled with dynamic demonstrations and networking with more than 150 exhibitors presenting the latest meteorological, hydrological and environmental technologies, which additionally emphasizes the importance of following market trends and innovations, and MicroStep was one of the exhibitors.

Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) is currently being carried out for the prognostic part of the system, which represents the final and key phase of this comprehensive project, highlighting the importance of successful implementation for future operations. The implementation significantly strengthens the meteorological infrastructure in Bosnia and Herzegovina, contributing to increasing the safety and reliability of aviation. By investing in modern technologies, BHANSA ensures the best possible service for all users.
