Safety of air navigation

The main goal of BHANSA's policy safety of air is as far as possible to reduce the risk of aviation accidents and incidents in the provision of services.

In its work, BHANSA emphasizes the safety of air navigation, in relation to commercial pressures or restrictions. In the Safety Policy Statement of BHANSA  is stated that safety is one of its basic business functions. All levels of management and all employees in BHANSA are responsible for achieving the highest level of safety of air navigation.

Safety Office of BHANSA is responsible for performing the tasks related to the establishment and maintenance of Safety Management System (SMS). In order to achieve the set safety objectives in air navigation, BHANSA has established a Safety Management System (SMS) which carries out activities that are systematically determined and carried out in order to achieve an acceptable level of safety.

Safety Committee – SC is the highest body of safety of air navigation of BHANSA, which at the strategic level considers all relevant issues, monitors the implementation and measures taken to improve safety of air navigation at the organizational level.

In the organizational structure of BHANSA act Safety Coordinators- Sco and  Safety Specialists-SS, which cooperate with Safety Office on the issues of implementation of Safety Management System (SMS).

Safety Management System (SMS) of BHANSA is based on the application of laws and bylaws of BiH, which are harmonized with standards and recommended practices of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and regulations of European Union – EU.

The basic reference bylaw is the Rulebook on establishing general and special requirements for providers of air traffic management services, air navigation services and other network functions for air traffic management ("Official Gazette of BiH" number: 10/23) which determines the general and special requirements for the provision of air navigation services in the airspace of Bosnia. and Herzegovina, in order to ensure safe, regular and efficient air traffic.
